Project summary
Our aim is to empower multicultural community of Peipsiland to actively participate in environmental decision-making and sustainable local practices. We aim to build ecological awareness and promote nature-based solutions and knowledge in gardening, sustainable land use, and biodiversity conservation, while fostering intergenerational learning and mutual respect.
We will bridge traditional ecological knowledge—such as seed saving, herbal knowledge, and food preservation techniques—with modern sustainability practices through a series of inclusive, community-driven, and hands-on activities.The project is fostering shared learning experiences around biodiversity, heritage, and sustainability
Main activitities:
1) Community Spring Walks and Clean-Up Events held along the Lake Peipsi shore and green areas,
2) Community exhibition on Local Biodiversity and Heritage Plants together with story telling
3) Autumn Workshop on Seed collection/saving and Traditional Food Preservation, where elderly community members share their traditional knowledege
