Summary
Project support sustainable agriculture and the cultivation of heritage plants in the Kakhetia region. Our partners are Kvareli municipality and charitabel union TEMI, which offers living as well as training and work opportunities for around 70 people
with special needs.
We buy equipment to start cultivation of Georgian heritage wheat variety, milling of
wheat into flour and baking bread. Cooperation with other organic producers in the region will be developed and trainings organised.
Phase 1: June 2017 – January 2019

During the project 1st phase we organised trainings for small agricultural producers in Kakheti region – on organic food production, sanitary requirements and possibilities to export to the EU market. We purchased equipment and started organic juice production. During the first season in 2018/2019 around 1700 bottles of apple, grape and pomegranate juice was produced and marketed.
During 2nd phase we worked with Development of organic farming and social entrepreneurship in TEMI community; developed green houses and irrigation system in TEMI. Trainings with other (starting) organic producers on national/ EU standards are organized as well as organic producers network and marketing were developed.
