Aims
Project aims to facilitate the introduction of a river basin management approach in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta Region through the improvement of institutional and human capacities (mainly of Ukrainian Danube  River Basin Council) and strengthening public participation in water resources management. The project will be implemented through the transfer of Estonian knowledge in EU Water Framework Directive implementation and Estonian-Russian transboundary water management. Project Ukrainian partner is NGO Center for Regional Studies and we will work together also with Danube River Basin Management Department. 

Activities
a. Kick-off meeting in Estonian and Ukrainian partners participation in Peipsi Forum; 22-24 November 2011, in Tartu. Read press release 
b. Institutional capacity building of UDRBC (website, fundraising strategy, registration). Facilitation of the development of a transboundary River Basin Management Plan for the Danube Delta sub-basin (Ukraine-Romania-Moldova)
c. Development of Payment for Environmental Services (PES) schemes for Danube Delta
d. Training for UDRBC members on IWRM, PES.
