March 31, Yerevan; Peipsi CTC starts a new ESTDEV development cooperation project - Advancing Organic and Regenerative Agriculture Education in Armenia
On March 31, 2025 kick off meeting of the ESTDEV project project "Advancing Organic and Regenerative Agriculture Education in Armenia" took place in Yerevan.
The goal of the project is to promote the adoption of regenerative agriculture in Armenia by enhancing awareness, skills, and capacity in the agricultural sector through innovative teaching methods and educational technology solutions.The project will result in the broader adoption of regenerative agricultural practices and promote the compliance of Armenia's agricultural sector with EU standards.
The key activities include:
-Development of a Digital Agriculture Education Platform, including: interactive modules, live webinars, assessable information and literature. Tailored content is to meet the unique needs of small holder farmers, focusing on practical, adaptable solutions for resource-constrained farming.
- Blended learning curriculum with ANAU for smallholder / young/displace farmers, on: organic farming basics, sustainable techniques, resource-efficient practices for rebuilding livelihoods; digital modules combined with hands-on sessions on ANAU’s organic demonstration plots and organic farms in Armenia.
-workshops to introduce smallholders: digital agricultural tools, apps; workshop on blueberry growing and inputs (e.g. blueberry seedlings) to young farmers for sustainable cultivation.
- Training of trainers and exchange with experience with Estonina organic farming experts and Field visit to Estonia
- Seminar with Armenian, Estonian University of Life Sciences and Organic Estonia experts on modern teaching methods and digital tools, Estonian experience with micro grades, organic farmers training/certification etc.
Project is lead by Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation and Organic Armenaio Association with close partnership of Armenian National Agrarian University, Organic Estonia and Estonian University of Life Sciences- Research Centre of Organic Farming
