On August 22, 2026, the public closing event of the Estonian-Latvian cooperation project Rooted Heritage will take place at the Lielstraupe Castle and Castle Gardens in Latvia, summing up the cross-border cooperation that has taken place over the past year in preserving heritage plants, gardening traditions, and community heritage.
The final event will take place within the framework of the Lielstraupe Castle Festival and will offer visitors the opportunity to learn about the project results, participate in practical workshops and discover the heritage plants of Peipsimaa in Estonia and the Cēsis region in Latvia.
During the day, visitors will be able to:
- learn about the results of the Rooted Heritage project;
- visit the heritage plant exhibition of Peipus County and Cēsis region;
- participate in practical workshops led by project participants.
All interested people are invited to take part in the final event and
discover how heritage plants help to preserve our roots and shape a more sustainable
future.
