16 September - roundtable on Peipsi environmental issues took place in Mehikoorma - initiated and attended by President Kersti Kaljulaid. Around 15 specialists - representatives of Räpina municipality, scientists from the Marine Institute of the University of Tartu and the University of Life Sciences, fishermen and NGOs - gave overview to the President on the water and fisheries condition of our transobundary Lake. It was discussed that that the water quality and fisheries are mainly affected by eutrophication and climate changes. Peipsi experts considered (cross border) co-operation between institutions,continuity of environmental monitoring and public awareness as most important topics.

We also introduced our new Estonia-Russian program environmental education related projects: Green Mind and CuNaHe.
