From Screens to Scenes – INACS team on the road in Latvia and Estonia

October 13-15; INACS project team gathered for a three-day cross-border workshop trip to Latvia and Estonia. The goal was to strengthen collaboration clarify and shape the project concept, define common guidelines for the next stages of the project and also explore inspiring nature and heritage sites.


The Central Baltic financed INACS project aims to develop a joint digital platform that opens a gateway to the natural and cultural heritage of Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. It encourages physical activity, an active lifestyle, and the creation of lasting memories especially among young people.

Our jproejct field trip ourney began in Latvia, where we visited the scenic towns of Sigulda, Līgatne and Cēsis and  explored old manors, castles, and landscapes in the Gauja River national park.
In Estonia, our route followed the shores of Lake Peipsi  - Alatskivi, Kallaste, Kasepää, Mutveee.
On 15 October we had also seminar in Peipsiland museum in Tiheda village.

INACS – Introduction of Nature and Culture Sites for Locals and Visitors is funded by the Interreg Central Baltic Programme. The project is led by South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) in partnership with Saimaa Geopark (Finland), Gauja National Park Tourism Association (Latvia), Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation (Estonia) and Sigulda Municipality (Latvia). The project will continue until April 2028.
