On the meeting in Satu Mare, the action proposed by Peipsi CTC is to insert in the Estonia – Latvia Programme 2021-2027 an option to finance small-scale cross-border projects. The proposal is based on the assumption that small projects are a perfect tool for bringing together local people on a cross-border level in order to strengthen the fabric of cooperation, often by utilising the resources of local cultural and natural heritage. The small projects in several cross-border cooperation programmes have proven to be of great support to sustain and develop local cultural and natural heritage, increase the involvement of youth in such actions and eventually create communities with a strong identity. “Small-scale cross-border projects” means simplified application and reporting etc by the programme.
EPICAH aims to promote the improvement of the policy instruments for cross-border cooperation processes in natural and cultural heritage protection. The objective of the project is also to develop the management of the border by using it as a tourist attraction factor.
