EUBORDERRREGIONS is a 4 years project, with objective
to identify challenges to economic, social and territorial cohesion as well as regional development potentials in 9 different borderlands at the EU’s external frontiers.
The focus of the work are the regional contexts that connect the EU with its immediate neighbourhood:
- Northeastern Europe / the Barents Sea Region
- Baltic Sea basin,
- Eastern Dimensions: e.g. Poland/Hungary-Ukraine, Romania-Moldova
- South-Eastern Europe / the Black Sea basin.
- The Euro-Mediterranean context: Southern Italian and Spanish regions
Project kick-off meeting with the participation of 14 partner institutes takes place on 11-13 March 2011, in Riga, Latvia.
