The 16th Conference of the Living Lakes network takes place in Peru at the shore of Lake Titicaca
The 16th Conference of the Living Lakes network "Biodiversity and ecosystem services in lakes and wetlands" will take place in the city of Puno, Perú, at the shore of Lake Titicaca. Peipsi CTC will present Estonian experience with management of transboundary waters and work with local communities.
Titicaca is the second largest freshwater lake in South America, the highest navigable lake in the world, and one of the oldest lakes on our planet . Lake Titicaca situates in the Andes mountains on the border of Bolivia and Peru.
The Living Lakes network currently supports 113 member lakes, wetlands and other freshwater bodies on a global scale, which are represented by 130 public and private organizations in 50 countries.
Lake Peipsi/Lake Võrtsjärv was accepted as an official double member of the international partnership Living Lakes in 2003.
