LIVING LAKES is the partnership promoting voluntary international collaboration among  organizations that carry out projects benefiting lakes, wildlife, and people.

Lake Peipsi/Lake Võrtsjärv was accepted as an official double member of the international partnership Living Lakes in 2003.
Living Lakes strives for effective protection of water in the most important lake areas around the world - A world-wide future-oriented initiative! At the moment, 104 members belong to the network, they are composed 33 international partner lakes as well as 15 candidates, 55 national partners and the honorary member, Lake Vostok
The Living Lakes network is coordinated by the Global Nature Fund.
